Christmas seals are classified as labels or Cinderella stamps. The first Christmas seal was developed in Denmark in 1904 and 6 years later the Filipino Christmas seal was released. While decorative and serving no postal purpose the sale of Christmas seals is a fundraiser for various charities – most notably the PTS (Philippine Tuberculosis Society).
