Large Magellan Cinderella
I am seeking help from anyone who has information on the below Magellan Cinderella stamp from the Philippines.

This is a large Cinderella stamp featuring Magellan, as shown on the right. It is displayed next to the regular Magellan postage stamp of 1917 (PH 292) so you can easily see the increased size of the Cinderella. While I’ve called out PH 292 specifically this design was actually used in various years and color shades from 1905-1925 for regular issue postage stamps.
Very little is known about this Cinderella stamp so I’ve put this blog post together in the hope that someone out there can help to answer some key questions. Personally, I’ve only ever seen this Cinderella once before so I assume that it is a scarce (maybe even rare) item. As you can see it is a copy of the original stamp with no other markings or enhancements. The print quality is not as crisp as the original, but is still quite nice.
Please add comments if you are able to answer any of the following questions or have additional information:
- Who manufactured this Cinderella stamp?
- Why did they manufacture it?
- In what year was it printed?
- What were the print quantities?
- Was it used as a revenue stamp by a private enterprise?
Any information would be appreciated.
Thank you.
