Dr. Jose Rizal Wall Plaque
I recently acquired this item and I really don’t know anything about the history of it. It is a wall plaque that measures around 10.5″ in diameter (26.7cm). The plaque has been designed to resemble a coin and does bear remarkable similarities to the 1 piso coin from 1972-1974 (KM#203) but with enough subtle design differences to say that this is not intended to be a facsimile. It is mounted on a black plaster and wood base. Near the bottom of the plaque are the words “compliments of National”. I am unsure who this was given to, why and how many were made. I believe it to be from somewhere in the 1970’s or 1980’s. There are no discernible markings on the back of the plaque.

I would love to hear from you if you have any information on this plaque.
